Legal guarantee of conformity

In short: every product bought from AAFIT carries a legal guarantee of conformity of at least two years. You do not have to ask for it and it costs nothing — it applies automatically. If a product does not match its description or does not behave as it should, write to us and we will repair it, replace it, reduce the price or refund you.

What "conformity" means

A product is in conformity when it matches the description on the site, has the qualities you can reasonably expect from an item of that kind, and performs normally in ordinary use. If the top you received is a different colour from the one ordered, if a seam gives way after a few normal wears, or if the fabric deteriorates in a way it should not, that is a lack of conformity.

The legal guarantee covers defects that existed at the time of delivery and become apparent within the guarantee period. It does not cover normal wear, damage caused by misuse, failure to follow the washing and care instructions, or changes you made to the product yourself.

What you can ask for

The order is the one set out in law:

1. Free repair or replacement — you choose between them, provided your choice is possible and not disproportionately costly compared with the other.
2. A price reduction or a full refund — if repair or replacement is impossible, if we fail to do it within a reasonable time, or if the problem comes back.

All of this is free of charge: we do not ask you to pay for shipping, labour or materials involved in bringing the product into conformity.

How to tell us

Write to comenzi@aafit.ro as soon as you notice the problem, with your order number and a photograph if you can. Keep your proof of purchase — the invoice or the order confirmation email is enough. We will reply and tell you exactly what happens next.

The legal guarantee and the right of return are not the same thing

The right to return a product within 14 days, without giving a reason, is separate and applies whether or not anything is wrong with it — see our Return Policy. The legal guarantee of conformity, by contrast, runs for two years and concerns products that are not as they should be.

Likewise, any commercial guarantee a producer may offer on top does not replace the legal guarantee and cannot narrow the rights described above.

Legal basis

The legal guarantee of conformity is governed in Romania by GEO No 140/2021 on the sale of goods, transposing Directive (EU) 2019/771. The harmonised notice above is laid down by Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2025/1960 and is mandatory across the European Union from 27 September 2026.
